ABOUT SOUTHERN GUJARAT INCOME TAX BAR ASSOCIATION, SURAT:

Having celebrated the Golden Jubilee Year of Establishment in 2007-08, Our Association,The Southern Gujarat Income Tax Bar Association,Surat(SGITBA) was established in 1958 under the name The Income Tax Practitioners Association and currently is the largest Association in the Region of South Gujarat consisting Tax Practitioners, Advocates and Chartered Accountants as its members in a number about 500. The Association is created, established and run not only for upliftment and encouragement to the members but also for the better services to the Society.

SGITBA is constantly organizing various seminars, conferences and study circle meetings to depart knowledge of Taxation. In the year 2005, the Association has organized National Tax Conference for the first time in the history of Surat City followed by Regional Tax Conference in the year 2007. In these National Level conferences, Honourable Judge of Gujarat High Court Shri D. A. Mehta, Chief Justice B. C. Patel (Retd., Delhi High Court), Vice President of ITAT, AHD Shri R. P. Garg, Shri U. P. Singh (Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Gujarat-1) and Shri B. M. Kothari (Former ITAT Member) has graced the occasion and shared their esteemed views amongst the delegates. Recently, in 2010, SGITBA has released the maiden issue of Newsletter also.

SGITBA is constantly organizing Seminars, Group Discussions and Tax Conferences not only in individual capacity but also with other Prestigious Organisations of National and State level like All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP), All Gujarat Federation of Tax Practitioners, The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), Surat Branch of WIRC of ICAI etc. and the benefits of knowledge of Learned and Prominent Speakers from all over India are made available at the door step of Surat.
